The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Botswana held a solemn celebration of the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. The event was attended by Botswana children and their parents, as well as members of the Ukrainian community and friends of Ukraine.

The celebration included an interesting cultural programme, including a masterclass in traditional Ukrainian embroidery. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about this art form and create their own items, gaining a deeper insight into Ukraine's rich cultural heritage.

In addition to the cultural activities, the event was an important platform for raising awareness of Ukraine's current humanitarian challenges. The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Botswana, H.E. Mrs. Liubov Abravitova, drew attention to the abduction of thousands of Ukrainian children by Russian forces. She presented the 'Bring Kids Back UA' campaign, calling on the audience to join the efforts to return forcibly deported children to their families, and explained how everyone can contribute to this important cause.

The event was a great success, uniting the audience around the values of Ukrainian culture and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
