The Embassy of Ukraine urges members of the public to exercise caution in response to deceptive recruitment schemes targeting foreign nationals with promises of employment, attractive salaries and other opportunities in Russia.
In some cases, individuals who respond to such offers may ultimately find themselves recruited to participate in Russia’s war against Ukraine, including being sent to the frontline. Those recruited may not be fully informed about the nature of the work they are being offered, the risks involved or the consequences of their involvement.
To raise awareness and help prevent foreign nationals from falling victim to deceptive recruitment practices, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, has established the Stop Russian Recruiters information platform.
The platform provides verified and regularly updated information about recruitment practices, associated risks and documented cases. It also offers practical guidance and assistance to foreign nationals who may have been recruited, as well as their families.
The website provides several channels for assistance, including:
The platform is available in English and French.
Members of the public are encouraged to remain vigilant, verify the legitimacy of employment offers and carefully consider the risks before accepting any opportunity that could involve participation in armed activities.
