On February 24, 2025, at the Botswana National Museum, Embassy of Ukraine inaugurated the "Resilience and Remembrance" exhibition—dedicated to three years of the full-scale war launched by Russia against Ukraine. Using a carefully curated collection of photographs, war artifacts, and cutting-edge VR technologies, the exhibition presents a chronological narrative of events from the initial days of the invasion to the present. The images capture both tragic moments and inspiring acts of resistance, while the artifacts, gathered directly from combat zones, bear witness to the brutal nature of the conflict. The immersive VR experience enables visitors to step into the harsh reality of the destruction inflicted upon Ukrainian cities.
A highlight of the event was the distinguished presence of H.E. Lieutenant General Dr. SKI Khama, the 4th President of Botswana—a military leader and the son of the nation’s founder. His attendance, as someone who truly understands the struggle against injustice, underscored that the international community stands united with those who fight for freedom.
During the opening, Ambassador of Ukraine to Botswana, H.E. Dr. Oleksiy Syvak, emphasized that Ukraine’s fight is not only for survival, but also for upholding the fundamental principles of freedom, human rights, and international law.
The Embassy of Ukraine extends sincere gratitude to the German Embassy in Botswana, the EU Delegation, and the people of Botswana for their unwavering support and solidarity. The "Resilience and Remembrance" exhibition is not just a retrospective account of past events; it is a shared commitment to justice and freedom that continues to inspire us all.
The exhibition will run until March 9, 2025. Embassy of Ukraine invites everyone to visit and witness firsthand the resilient spirit of the Ukrainian people.
