VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Gardener at the Ambassador’s Residence
Location: Gaborone, Botswana

The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Botswana is seeking a dedicated, responsible, and experienced gardener to maintain and care for the grounds of the Ambassador’s residence.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience working as a gardener, preferably in diplomatic, international, or high-standard private residences;
• Practical knowledge of plants that are not indigenous to Southern Africa, including their care, watering, and seasonal maintenance needs;
• Previous work experience abroad is a strong advantage;
• Fluency in English is required; basic knowledge of Ukrainian is highly desirable;
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and order across garden areas, flower beds, and green spaces;
• Self-discipline, reliability, attention to detail, and discretion are essential.

Main Duties:

• Care for ornamental and exotic plants, trees, shrubs, and lawn areas;
• Regular pruning, weeding, planting, fertilizing, and irrigation;
• Seasonal preparation of garden beds;
• Cooperation with Embassy staff and outside service providers for larger-scale garden tasks or events;
• Monitoring plant health and implementing eco-friendly pest and disease control as needed.

Terms:

• Full-time position;
• Competitive salary, based on experience and qualifications;
• Trial period of 1 month.
